i AM this much of a nerd, rockin' out

Poison/Def Leppard YEAH!

Initially we weren’t going to go as funds are tight, but as luck would have it Amy and I won a contest that included free tickets to see the Poison/Def Leppard show in San Diego, AND a meet and greet with Def Leppard!!! So heck YEAH we were going to go! We got there early for the meet and greet, which ended up being a QUICK photo op and signing with 2 members of the band. So who were we going to get?! I was definitely happy with who came out of that door, Rick Allen and Phil Collen!!! Rick Allen is my favorite member (the one armed drummer for those of you not as 80’s inclined as we are 😉 ) and Phil Collen, HOLY CANOLIES he’s got a hot bod for being an older bloke!

What was also pretty freakin’ awesome was that our tix were free, but the ticket guy said we could upgrade to orchestra seating for 20 bucks. At first I was like no thanks, don’t want to spend the money, but the we saw where orchestra would be… right smack dab in the front so we were like SOLD! Our seats ended up being in the second row! When Poison came on I was FLIPPING OUT!! I kept saying “Oh my GOD!!” to Amy about how close we were to CC DeVille and my particular favorite RIKKI ROCKETT!! At one point I looked to Rikki and pointed and was like I love you haha, and he saw me and pointed back at me with his drumstick *swoooons* It was awesome! 🙂 I even got to touch Bret Michael’s hand YAAAAAAY!

Almost 3 hours of 80’s rock n roll totally brought back fun memories! I remember watching the videos on MTV of alot of the songs they played when I was in like the 3rd grade. Our parents never let us watch MTV, so of course when they were off at work we’d be all over MTV, and videos like Poison’s Fallen Angel, Nothing But a Good Time, Def Leppard’s Hysteria, and Pour Some Sugar on Me were just some of what we recorded over my brother’s violin recital tape. Whoops, sorry mama and papa! 😉

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Poison, and while I’m a fan of Def Leppard I have to say being that close to them definitely made their show more fun for me than the last time I saw them 🙂 Thanks to Amy for once again being my 80’s rock partner in crime, you’re one rockin’ chick my darling! <3 🙂

  11. Congrats to Bon Jovi for reminding us about being in the business of show by ending 2010 with the year’s biggest earning live tour! Blaze of Glory!

  12. I would invest in getnitg some other shirts with brown in them. Then you can mix and match all you want. One thing I would advise of is NEVER wear black and brown together. They clash, but sometimes they look good. Just be careful. Hope this helps -5
