This whole Batman hoopla!

Ok, seriously folks, just to be clear… this batman movie has NOT done better than Star Wars or Titanic. Yes, the grand total has surpassed that of Star Wars and is hot on the heels of Titanic, but it’s called INFLATION. When you take that into account it’s done nowhere even remotely near Star Wars and Titanic. Those 2 movies sold light years more tickets, and The Dark Knight will never reach that arena.

I’m JUST sayin’.

xoxo! 🙂

Dark Knight still kicks some serious butt! I saw it twice opening weekened! I have never done that before. Ledger and Bale kick butt on screen! I thought it was really cool, just my take.

Correction Aurora. Star Wars was released twice in the theaters, the first time when they premiered and the second time when it was celebrating its 20th anniversary in 1997. Same thing for E.T. when the rereleased it on the theaters and that movie is on the top ten of the all time box office hits.

Dark Knight is number 2, beat Star Wars, deal with it, because the movie kicked ass.

    Just my take 🙂

I loved Heath’s performance better than Bale’s! Maybe I should dress up as the joker on Halloween and scare everyone! HAHAHAHAHAHA

He probably used the same voice on his mom and sister so they called the UK police on him and that is why he turned himself into authorities the following Mon/Tues. They dropped the case afterall. Guess he got verbally assaultive and probably used his Batman voice! LOL

Why is everybody complaining about the voice. don’t you remember in Batman Begins, the “swear to me” part, that was bad ass.

At least Bale doesn’t whisper like Michael Keaton, “I’m Batman!” lol

In that respect, Titanic is an insignificant movie, as the real record holder is Gone With the Wind, making $1.5 BILLION with inflation adjustment.

The Batman movie, I thought, was very good. But maybe it would have been better it Christian Bale dropped the Joker at the end, yelling “I’ll never let go Jack!” then drops his big Batman diamond necklace over the building railing.

OK!! So if you are gonna take inflation into consideration then you already know that your beloved Star Wars and Titanic are not the top movies of all time. Just take The Dark Knight for what it is………. AN AWESOME MOVIE!!

    I’m JUST sayin’!!

You’re right prim, as Scott is correct, adjusted for inflation Gone With the Wind one of my most fave movies is the #1 of all time, and Star Wars is actually still 2nd, Titanic ends up being 6th. So still all those movies beat The Dark Knight, which is all my original post was sayin’. 😉 And who knew?! Sound of Music ranks 3rd on the inflation adjusted charts.. didn’t know it did so well!

Dark Knight was a good movie. I liked Ledger playing the Joker. I agree with Aurora on this one… this movie is getting a lot of hype and it comes no where close to Titanic or Star Wars as far as inflation adjusted gross revenue. I saw Dark Knight in iMax when it came out. Although I thought it was a good movie, it’s not worth seeing a million times as some of my friends have done. It’s kind of hard to compare Star Wars and Dark Knight… Dark Knight is no where in the league of Star Wars.

Saw this conversation and had to put in my two cents: I’m still trying to figure out how Titanic did as well as it did. It was good, but not THAT good.
